Kaweka Eligibility Criteria

  • Registered member of participaing iwi (see iwi prioritisation groups).

  • Do not already own a home.

  • Household Income Requirements.

    STUDIO APPARTMENT

    Annual income must be at least $40,000 gross before tax but no more than $75,000. Limited Apartments

    ONE BEDROOM UNITS

    Annual income must be at least $45,000 gross before tax but no more than $95,000. Limited Apartments

    TWO-BEDROOM UNITS

    Annual Income must be at least $50,000 gross before tax but no more than $115,000.

    Please note that there are primarily two-bedroom units available. Kaweka offers limited studio and one-bedroom apartments.

  • Minimum income requirements apply to ensure applicants can afford rebated rents using a maximum of 30% of their household gross income. We want to ensure that whānau moving into these units can sustain a comfortable standard of living within their financial means.

    Maximum income limits apply to ensure rebated rents are targeted to whanau that best need support and otherwise cannot afford market rents using 30% of their household income.
